Womenzone team with Big Screen Bradford to turn City Park into a gym!

Womenzone takes over City Park

More than 100 people  got a step fitter  with a Bank Holiday work out in City Park at the weekend. Bradford based charity Womenzone worked with the team at Big Screen Bradford to host a series of keep fit sessions for young and old at the screen. They were watched by bystanders who also got the opportunity to  get free health advice, check their BMI and learn about healthy eating. The Bradford-based health project got people young and old joining in with impromptu aerobics classes. There were contests to see who could spin a hula-hoop for the longest and the opportunity to try a selection of healthy foods. Project co-ordinator Nadia Naim said: “It’s about taking exercise and gyms to the community, rather than waiting for people to come through the doors. We are taking it into City Park and encouraging people to think about making positive health changes. Womenzone Gym instructor Farzana Kauser said “It was a fantastic event – we had men, women and children all getting involved in the exercise workouts and having a lot of fun in the process!”

Womenzone hope the workouts will encourage people to remember to keep active wherever they may be and whatever they may be doing. For more information about Womenzone visit www.womenzonecc.co.uk”
