Sheffield Doc/Fest Open for Applications.

Doc/Fest is a Film Festival, Industry Session programme and Market place, offering pitching opportunities, controversial discussion panels and in-depth filmmaker masterclasses, as well as a wealth of inspirational documentary films from across the globe and world-famous parties.

A new opportunity has just arisen for people aged between 16-21 who have a passion for documentaries and the media industry.

The Youth Jury has been running for 8 years and has helped launch the career of many jurors, who have gone on to work for BBC, C4 and make their own documentary films.

Youth Jurors spend 3 days in London with the Director of Programming, Hussain Currimbhoy, to view films and meet filmmakers and industry professionals. This accelerator course gives successful applicants a fast track to understanding the documentary industry and helps hone ideas of what it means to work and make documentary films. After that, the jury re-unite in Sheffield during Doc/Fest to select a winning film from the Youth Jury selection and award it a prize.

Its the most fun you will have in a long time and will open doors to new opportunities, while meeting other like minded young people who are passionate about film.

You do not need experience in the media or filmmaking – just an appetite for documentary and a desire to contribute to the arts industry.

All applicants need to apply by Thursday 14th November.
