The three-day Qingdao Film and Television Expo ended on Oct 17 in Qingdao West Coast New Area with fruitful results achieved, local media reported.
A host of themed activities including forums, film promotions, training sessions and exhibitions were held during the expo, with hundreds of experts and scholars in the field of culture, media and film, as well as producers, directors and investors in attendance.
Cutting-edge technologies applied to the film and television industry were a highlight at the expo, which displayed a larger number of 5G equipment and offered immersive virtual experiences for visitors.
“High- and new-tech video”, which offers higher-level formats and a better audiovisual experience, was also a highlight. Seminars, project-matchmakings and exhibitions related to this were held.
Twenty high-tech video enterprises and related institutions signed contracts to begin operations at the 5G High-and New-Tech Video Pilot Park in Qingdao West Coast New Area. The high-tech video center of National Broadcasting and Television Network Engineering Technology Research Center was also inaugurated during the expo.
The Annual Report on Development of Global Film Industry 2021 was also launched during the expo. David Wilson, who is chair of the international editing committee for the above report, also known as the Blue Book of Film said; The ongoing research on the development of the global film industry is a significant tool for countries around the world to look at global trends in the area of film. All the UNESCO film cities are invited to contribute and discuss closer cultural ties as well as technological advances.
