This December, the Bradford Film Office visited London to attend FOCUS, the international meeting place for production. We were met with a number of other Film Offices from across the UK. This was a great opportunity to share experiences and chat to like-minded people.
FOCUS had a jam-packed programme, featuring talks, presentations and exhibits. Alongside this, we were able to visit the number of stalls throughout the venue. This was a brilliant way of making contacts with other locations and production companies.
FOCUS had a handy app, which let us virtually connect with other attendees. We could arrange meetings on-site, or simply just keep their details for future events. It made it particularly easy to schedule our day with the calendar feature. It was a great way to meet up with location managers, directors and producers to further sell Bradford as a filming location, as well as being able to sell the district to new contacts.
This year’s FOCUS was at normal capacity which was great to see. Last year, it was a much quieter event as it was in the midst of Covid. FOCUS was an excellent way to make new contacts and meet like-minded people. We look forward to future FOCUS events.
