Tour De Cinema!

 

 

The Tour de France is coming to Britain for 100 days this summer, starting in Yorkshire. To celebrate, Doc/Fest is proud to present the Tour de Cinema as a major strand of theYorkshire Festival. Special documentary and fiction films will be screening FREE to the public on large-scale high definition screens, popping up in beautiful open-air locations, National Trust venues, and community spaces across the county. The Programme
The programme includes both outdoor and indoor screenings, and includes two brand new films made especially for the festival from a century of archive footage about cycling – – see below for more details. You’ll also see some of the best films ever made about Yorkshire life, including treasures from the BFI archive, films by Ridley Scott and Louis Malle, Alan Bennett’s rarely-seen A Day Out, and The Big Melt, co-directed by Martin Wallace and Jarvis Cocker, plus some of the greatest cycling films ever made… Expect a rich programme of films from archive documentaries to the latest in contemporary cinema. Through the 100 days of the Tour, Yorkshire’s landscapes, cities, towns and villages will be transformed into unforgettable cinema experiences open to all, from young to old. Cycle To The Cinema We have limited car parking spaces at the venues so we strongly encourage cycling, walking or car-pooling to get to each screenings. Each venue will have ample space for parking your bike, so please Cycle to the Cinema if you can!

Enjoy spectacular FREE outdoor screenings in beautiful locations across Yorkshire. The landscape will be transformed into unforgettable cinema experiences. Open to all ages unless otherwise stated.
