Ilkley Film Festival – One Day To Go!

The first ever Ilkley Film Festival represents a versatile line-up of films and special guests ranging from mainstream cinema to foreign gems. Taking place within two of Ilkley’s most prominent locations Ilkley Playhouse and Kings Hall Ilkley the festival offers you the chance to become truly immersed in film over the weekend. The festival will kick off tomorrow 14th of February , what a great way to spend Valentine’s day! Those involved in the festival are more than pleased to announce that the turn out this year is expected to have an audience of 3000 over the weekend.

Tomorrows line up starts with films such as ‘Philomena’ taking place at Kings Hall, which stars the festivals very own patron Dame Judi Dench. Whilst later on in the evening you can catch one of the best romantic comedies ever ‘When Harry met Sally’ which is taking place at the Ilkley Playhouse and over at the Kings Hall, Paul Merton shares his passion for silent films as he presents some of his heroes from the silent era with piano accompaniment from BFI maestro Neil Brand. To find out more information on the films being show throughout the weekend, including time, venue and price visit the festivals website at www.ilkleyfilmfestival.co.uk

Also an update on the film screening of ‘From the sea to the Land Beyond’ due to an unavoidable logistical issue that has occurred for British Sea Power, it will now be shown ten minutes early at 17:50 this Saturday 15th February. Please be advised that the event must start promptly. As seating is unreserved, we advise arriving at the venue at least 30 minutes before (17:20) in order to be seated in plenty of time.
