Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2014 – top 10 regions
Yorkshire has been named one of the top regions in the world for travellers in 2014. The county receives the accolade in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2014 beating other places such as Malloca, Spain and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
The travel guide stated that Bradford UNESCO City of Film was one of the reasons that the county came third.
Of course we’ve known that all along, and that is part of the reason why the region attracts so much film and TV production.
Other reasons included Tour de France beginning its grand depart from Leeds, and Yorkshire having more Michelin starred restaurants than any other county outside of London.
