As one of City of Film's four strands - along with Enjoy, Learn, and Visit - the Make Task and Delivery Board was set up to develop and deliver its own action plan.  The primary aims are two-fold: to support more films being at least partly made in Bradford, and to enhance the city's status as a national and international centre of film.

In pursuit of that, a Make Task and Delivery Board will be established in 2010/11. It will review the current provision, improve its coordination, refocus partners' efforts and strategies in this area and develop an enhanced offer for Bradford.  It recognises that at the heart of that approach is the need to encourage local aspiring film makers, giving them the practical and creative support to make and show their work.  By consolidating and capitalising on the current provision, Bradford will become a byword for production innovation and excellence. As it takes its rightful place on the production landscape, it will be a natural focus for industry consultation and occasions.

The Make Action Plan to 2020 will outline the specific actions to be taken to ensure that

  • Bradford’s offer to the film industry is clearly recorded and promoted to the industry
  • Local aspiring film makers are supported and their work showcased
  • Film makers continue to come to Bradford to make films (including shorts and Bradford is promoted as a venue for film industry/national events.

In the meantime we will use this site to document and promote the Bradford offer to film makers, look at a potential film making scheme to encourage film makers to come to Bradford, support work placements for local film makers, assist events for local film makers to showcase their work, have an annual busary scheme for local film makers, support local film makers through use of City of Film equipment, hold an annual industry event and support locally made films being shown on the Bradford City Centre Big Screen.

The Make Task and Delivery Board action plan will be available to download from Summer 2010.
