Taciturn Slimane (Boufares) is laid off from his shipyard job and decides, against stacked odds, to open a couscous restaurant on a disused ship. He’s helped by fiesty daughter Rym (Herzi), yet despite their bonds, other family members can’t help but cause Slimane problems.

this: an eccentric, luminous homage from Argentina that makes charming reference to Metropolis, A Trip to the Moon, and other centrepieces of early cinema. The sinister Mr. TV has robbed an entire Argentine village of the inhabitants’ voices. Two speakers are remaining, and must foil Mr. TV by erecting an antenna on a distant snowy peak. La Antena is full of arresting images, and works wonders as a madcap, dreamlike fable.
